Bringing Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine to NYC

															The ZaZu Story
Founded by passionate food lovers with deep culinary roots, ZaZu was started with the dream of sharing the vibrant street food culture of the Mediterranean with NYC. We wanted to go beyond the punchy, fresh flavors of authentic Middle Eastern & Mediterranean cuisine, and share the spirit behind it too.
Community, generosity, and well-loved recipes passed down from generation to generation have permanent seats at our table, and ZaZu is our way of inviting you into this experience. We set out to reimagine timeless dishes in a fresh, fast-casual way that feels both authentic and exciting. Every bite is made with high-quality halal ingredients, perfectly balanced spices, and a whole lot of care.
From our first home in Chelsea, ZaZu has grown into a community favorite, known for wholesome plates, warm hospitality, and a true passion for flavor. Now, with our second store opening at the iconic Shaver Hall and plans to reach 10 locations across Manhattan, we’re on a mission to bring more people together over authentic Mediterranean taste, good vibes, and unforgettable food.

I ate their Loaded Fries Shawarma Chicken and garlic sauce, which was decidedly yummy. My goodness! The depth of the taste was phenomenal. Their spices are subtle, but memorable. I chose their garlic sauce and my friend chose the Tahini sauce on her beef Shawarma. The food is plentiful here. It was enough for me to be able to take some home. I was too hungry for that the first time, to do that. I've went back yesterday with the same friend. The fun part is that they give points that you can use for each purchase, which I had missed seeing before, but my friend had not. I signed up on the spot and received 50 points the equivalent of $5.00 off my meal. Stupendous! For my second visit, I had the Beef Sharwarma and my friend had a wrap. I was expecting shredded beef, but it was ground. Again, the spices added depth, but there was also perhaps a bit of greasiness from the ground beef. Although pretty, there was an almost overwhelming amount of chopped tomatoes on top, plus the requisite pickles. I opted out of the red onions, again since I have an onion sensitivity. That might cut the slight greasy taste bringing up the rear. I did not finish it, abs decided to take it home. Don't get me wrong it was still quite good, moist, ...yet still a little greasy. I will, return. The food options, taste, and the bonus points, all make it worth it to go.Posted on Edie Ismene NicolaouTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
